Outpost Buildings is proudly owned and operated by the Smith family; Alex and Lisa Smith manage the business with the help of Lisa's father Greg Cox (our Sales Manager) and the rest of the Outpost Buildings team; Corey, Rachael and Aimee.

Our small but mighty team couples friendly service with expert product knowledge and honest, practical advice. The experienced Outpost Buildings team have collectively worked together for many years now, so you can trust us to know our products inside out and provide you with the right solution to meet your requirements (and all the curly questions in between).

We have 2 factories; one in Silverdale and one down south in Timaru. Our small team offer friendly service with great product knowledge and advice. We take an interest in our customers and really enjoy hearing customer feedback and helping customers to become raving fans!

Most Outpost buildings are designed to be relocatable. Their extra heavy duty designs ensure that the maintain integrity of structure when moving from site to site. Being relocatable gives you the flexibility to reposition your building if you needs change in the future as well as the ability to get your Outpost building loaded onto a truck for moving to a new property or on-selling.

The Outpost Story

From small beginnings...
The first Outpost building was created in 2005 in a rural woodwork shop by father and son – this was to be a first of thousands of Outpost kitsets delivered across the country.

The name Outpost was chosen for the business because of the strong, rustic design of the buildings. They were buildings that would be put in remote locations, farms & lifestyle blocks out in the country.

Outpost has an extensive range of outstanding building designs. They are all built to be strong & functional with design appeal that looks great in rural NZ; wild, rugged back country & beyond.

The continual development of Outpost buildings is due to the quality of people in our team – and this extends to you, our customer. From customer requests and feedback, our selection has been honed and shaped into a unique showcase of buildings.
