Customer Case Study: Boutique Grazing Facilities Built to Last

Jul 02, 2026

When it came to creating quality facilities for boutique grazing on their property, a Coatesville couple knew they needed to create a practical, durable solution that would provide comfort for the horses and secure storage for equipment.

It was an investment they wanted to make once- and make well.

The challenge

For Wendy and Brent Cooper, they particularly wanted to invest in a stable and shed that could comfortably accommodate two horses while also providing a secure tack room and feed storage area.

Why choose Outpost?

Wendy says having come across Outpost Buildings, they were pleased to find a design that perfectly matched their requirements.

"Outpost had the perfect plans that worked and we were already aware of the quality of the product."

She says the team was very efficient and working through the process with them was straightforward from the start.

Built with confidence

The kitset was assembled by their builder, who was impressed with the quality of the materials and construction.

That quality became even more apparent when the builder compared the project to pricing a similar structure from scratch.

"We knew we'd made the right choice when our builder said he'd priced up something similar and the materials alone were more expensive!" she says.

For Wendy and Brent, it confirmed what they’d hoped from the beginning—they had invested in a quality building that offered real long-term value.

The little things make the biggest difference

Today, the stable provides exactly what was needed for the couple, with one feature standing out above the rest.

A secure, weatherproof storage space is invaluable for keeping tack and feed protected year-round and Wendy is thrilled with how hers has turned out.

"My favourite part is how dry the tack room is,” she says.

Sometimes it’s the practical details that end up making the biggest difference. Keeping saddles, feed and equipment dry, secure and organised can make daily life easier, whatever the weather.

Meeting expectations

When it comes to the completed stable Wendy and Brent say it has delivered on everything they had hoped for.

"Outpost set a high standard and met it! The end result is totally fit for purpose."

Asked to sum up the experience in just a few words, her answer was simple.

"Good people, good product."

Built for years to come

For property owners looking for a practical, high-quality horse stable solution, this project demonstrates how the right kitset building can provide lasting value, functionality and peace of mind.

Horse shelter with single tack shed 7.2m

Wendy and Brent chose one of Outpost's large horse shelters with an attached tack shed, creating a versatile solution that combines horse shelter, storage and convenience in one practical building.

This design is available as a standard shelter and is an ideal option for paddocks without trees or natural shade. Optional gates and rails can be added to create individual holding stalls, as Wendy and Brent have done. They also upgraded from standard Zincalume cladding to Colorsteel to complement the look of their home.

The shelter/stall size measures 3.5m deep x 5.6m wide and features a clear span interior, exterior grade 15mm plywood end walls and solid 15mm plywood kick boards.

The enclosed lockable tack shed measures 1.5m x 3.5m x 2.9m high. It is made with quality treated timber framing and plywood, has a plywood floor included and has a clear roof panel for interior lighting.
