Attached is a photo of us building the calf shelter. Had the 'A' team on it.
I'm too heavy to get on the roof so my 13-year-old granddaughter got up and predrilled the roof and put the tek screws in. Her 11-year-old sister and cousin did the walls and flashings. Maybe you could say building it is child’s play.
My wife and I put the frame together in an afternoon and my son came round the next day with the girls. He put one or two screws in each sheet of roofing. Just enough to hold them in place. Then the girls took over.
I have concreted a 100 x 100 post in each corner to hold the shelter in place. Our place is too windy to leave it loose.
We raise calves. This shelter is in one of the calf paddocks. Calf mobs are about 20. Might be a bit of a struggle for them to all fit in here but it will give them shelter from the rough spring weather.
